Dermal FILLERS

What are Dermal Fillers?

Dermal fillers are injectable substances used to add volume, contour, and smooth out wrinkles and lines in the skin. They are commonly used in cosmetic procedures to enhance facial features, restore lost volume, and rejuvenate the skin's appearance. Dermal fillers can be made from various materials, with hyaluronic acid being one of the most popular due to its natural compatibility with the body and ability to attract moisture. Other types of fillers include those made from calcium hydroxylapatite, poly-L-lactic acid, and polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA). The choice of filler depends on the specific treatment goals and the patient's individual needs.

What type of Dermal Fillers do we use?

At our clinic, we exclusively utilize hyaluronic acid fillers for their exceptional safety profile and proven efficacy. Hyaluronic acid, a natural substance found in the skin, ensures optimal results with minimal risk, providing our clients with safe and satisfying outcomes in their aesthetic treatments

How do Dermal Fillers work?

As we age, our bodies produce lower amounts of the proteins (elastin and collagen) which give us a youthful look. Dermal fillers work to smooth the deep lines in the face which appear as wrinkles. This injectable treatment is able to add volume which has been lost in these areas since elastin and collagen production has dropped. In this way, dermal fillers are able to enhance the appearance of the face, adding ‘lift’.
Following a Dermal Filler injection, patients can resume their everyday activities. However, it is recommended that patients refrain from rubbing or massaging the affected area of the face for a few days after the treatment.

Where can Dermal Fillers be used?

At our clinic, we use Dermal Fillers to treat many areas of the face and address a range of concerns including:
  • Lips: Filler can enhance lip volume, define the lip borders, and improve lip symmetry.
  • Cheeks: To restore lost volume in the mid-face, improve the contour and definition of the cheekbones.
  • Jawline and chin: A more balanced facial profile can be achieved using Dermal Fillers to replace or enhance lost volume in the jawline or chin.
  • Nasolabial folds: These lines are filled to soften and smooth their appearance.
  • Marionette lines: The appearance of sad/wrinkled smile lines can be minimised using Dermal Fillers.
Your treatment will always be tailored to you and your desired outcome.

Are Dermal Fillers safe?

Since patient safety is our utmost priority, as qualified medical professionals, we have a very good understanding of human facial anatomy to ensure dermal fillers are safely administered.
When administered by qualified medical professionals in appropriate doses, dermal fillers are generally considered safe. There are several kinds of Dermal filler treatment and your healthcare specialist will discuss your options with you. As with any medical procedure, there are potential risks and side effects. Common side effects may include temporary redness, swelling, bruising or tenderness at the injection site, which typically subside within a few days.
